Black Eyed Peas frontman will.I.am has landed a high profile job as the Director of Creative Innovation for the world’s largest manufacturer of computer chips.
The announcement was made today (January 25th) at the the Anaheim Convention Center during a sales and marketing conference.
According to will.I.am, “every beat” he makes is created using Intel’s technology, so the jump to the Director of Creative Innovation is not a far stretch for the award winning producer/rapper.
“Nearly everything I do involves processors and computers, and when I see an Intel chip I think of all the creative minds involved that help to amplify my own creativity,” will.i.am said in a statement. “Teaming up with the scientists, researchers and computer programmers at Intel to collaborate and co-develop new ways to communicate, create, inform and entertain is going to be amazing.”
While more details about his job duties have not been revealed, the 35-year-old producer is expected to help the company innovate new products and reinvent itself for a younger demographic.
“It’s imperative that Intel and our innovations are kept in front of the global youth culture that embraces new devices and new forms of communication and entertainment,” added Deborah Conrad, head of marketing for Intel.
Will.I.am has signed a two-year employment agreement with Intel.
