George W. Bush's interview with Matt Lauer, in which the former President discusses Kanye West's 2005 outburst over his handling of Hurricane Katrina, aired last night (Nov. 8) on a "Matt Lauer Reports" primetime special on NBC.

While discussing his just-released memoir, "Decision Points," Bush remembers the rapper's claim that "George Bush doesn't care about black people" as "a disgusting moment, pure and simple," and one that ranks among of the worst of his presidency.

"It's one thing to say, 'I don't appreciate the way he's handled his business,'" Bush tells Lauer while slamming his hands down on the wooden table in front of him. "It's another thing to say, 'This man's a racist.' I resent it, it's not true, and it was one of the most disgusting moments of my presidency."

After the excerpt of the interview was released last week, West responded by saying that he "can understand the way [Bush] feels" after interruptingTaylor Swift's VMA acceptance speech last year and being accused of racism. "Now, I'm more open and the poetic justice I felt to have gone through the things he went," West said during a radio interview with Houston's 97.9 The Box, "and now I'm more connected to him on a humanitarian level."
